2021 Honda HR-V New Rendering Shows Coupe-SUV Styling

The next-gen Honda HR-V is reportedly to be unveiled for global markets in May 2021. The new model will be based on an all-new platform and will grow in size. In fact, the new model has already been spotted testing. The spy images show that the new model will have multiple versions as the spotted model had Coupe-like styling. Theophilus Chin as released new renderings of the 2021 Honda HR-V, which shows a coupe-SUV design.

The 2021  Honda HR-V will come with more angular design. The Coupe-SUV rendering gets squared off glasshouse, and misses out on the upswept shoulder line. There is a straight line that joins the head- and taillights. However, it retains the funky hidden rear door handles. The design seems heavily inspired by an all-new electric SUV concept unveiled at the 2020 Beijing Auto Show.

2021 Honda HR-V Rendering Specs

The rendering has a larger grille, flanked by a trapezoidal headlamps with horizontal bars. It features Honda’s “Solid Wing Face” chrome bar atop the lamps. It is expected that the SUV could misses out on the chrome bar, which also misses out on some Honda models including the new Jazz. 

The biggest change will be made at the rear profile, which has slimmer taillights and a prominent tailgate garnish. The licensing plate is placed lower on the tailgate, which is similar to that of the Mazda CX-30. The render also gets large turbine-style two-tone alloy wheels.

The new model will also grow in size and will measure around 4.4 meters in length, 1.79m in width and 1.59m in height. This will make it a direct rival to the likes of the Jeep Compass and the Toyota Corolla Cross. Not just Coupe SUV look, the next-gen HR-V will also receive a Plug-in Hybrid Version. Similar to the Fit hatch, the new 2021 Honda HR-V will get the 1.5L petrol engine with two electric motors. The hatchback achieves up to 80kmph with the use of the electric motor. For greater power, the petrol engine starts to work to transmit the rotation to the second electric motor, which is called the generation engine. It is also expected to receive the 1.5-litre and 1.8-litre petrol engines.
