Force Motors has confirmed that the all-new Gurkha is ready for market launch. In order to create excitement among buyers, the automaker recently released a couple of its teaser images. We have seen the compact off-road SUV in its pre-production avatar at the last year’s Auto Expo. Its near-production model was caught on camera multiple times revealing interesting design and feature details. The new 2021 Force Gurkha has 4-seats arrangement with a pair of captain seats for the second row occupants.
The compact off-roader comes with a newly-designed all-black dashboard along with a Kenwood stereo system and a touchscreen infotainment system. There are two AC vents fitted on each side of the touch display. The glovebox has also been placed slightly upward. The new Force Gurkha 2021 comes with front and rear lockers, rear pintel hook and rear parking sensors. It offers steps to the roof carrier. The list of features might also include a digital multi-info display, a new instrument cluster, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering, power windows, dual airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system) and more.
The new 2021 Force Gurkha underpins an updated ladder frame chassis and meets new crash test and pedestrian safety standards. While its original upright stance, boot mounted spare wheel and dimensions remain intact, the SUV gets newly-designed headlamps with LED DRLs, new front grille, updated front and rear bumpers and tweaked taillamps. Similar to the outgoing model, the new one will come with three and five door versions with 2WD and 4WD options. Powering the SUV will be the BS6-compliant 2.6L diesel engine derived from Mercedes. The motor, with the standard 5-speed manual gearbox, will deliver a peak power of 90bhp and 260Nm of torque.
The new Force Gurkha 2021 is estimated to be priced as low as Rs 10 lakh for the base variant and up to Rs 12 lakh for the top-end trim. It will go head-to-head against the Mahindra Thar. The company is also working on 5-door version of the Gurkha.
