The new-generation Force Gurkha made its public debut at the 2020 Auto Expo. The off-road SUV was scheduled to launch last year, but it was delayed due to the pandemic and lockdown. Its official launch timeline is yet to be revealed by the carmaker. Though, the production-ready model has been revealed in the leaked images prior to its arrival. Painted in the new Orange colour scheme, the 2021 Force Gurkha looks rugged and more refreshing than the previous model.
One of the major changes has been made to its underpinnings. Sitting on the new chassis, the new Force Gurkha 2021 has a new bodyshell that meets the existing crash test standards and the upcoming pedestrian safety norms. Talking about the cosmetic changes, the off-road SUV features a new front grille flanked by retro-styled headlamps with LED DRLs.
The new fog lamp assembly, updated front and rear bumpers, pronounced wheel arches with cladding and new 16-inch alloy wheels further enhance its new look. The new Force Gurkha 2021 will also be available with multiple accessories including snorkel, a roof carrier and tailgate mounted spare wheel.
Significant updates have also been made to its interior. It gets a newly-designed dashboard, centre console and a touchscreen infotainment system. The info unit is likely to support both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The digital MID is situated between the tachometer and speedometer. The SUV also gets instrument cluster and control surfaces for the air con system.
The 2021 Force Gurkha will employ the BS6-compliant diesel engine making power worth 90bhp. Compared to its BS4 version, the updated motor is slightly more powerful. The off-road SUV comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox and 4WD (four-wheel drive) system with manual locking differentials controlled through levers. The new Fource Gurkha also comes with the 2WD (two-wheel drive) system.
