Ducati India has announced that it will launch the Multistrada 950 S BS6 on 2nd November 2020. Ahead of its official price unveiling, the bikemaker started accepting pre-bookings at a token sum of Rs 1 lakh. Deliveries of the updated model will begin in the first week of November. The 2020 Ducati Multistrada 950 S will be the third BS6-compliant model from the Italian bikemaker.
The company says that the “new Multistrada 950 S embodies the traditional Ducati values of Sophistication and Performance with the addition of cutting edge technology”. At the heart of the 2020 Ducati Multistrada 950 S is the BS6-compliant version of the 937 cc L-Twin, liquid-cooled engine. While the official power and torque figures of the updated motor are yet to be revealed, it’s likely to stay unchanged. At present, the motor pushes out a peak power of 111bhp at 9,000rpm and a maximum torque of 96Nm at 7,750rpm. Transmission duties will be done by the same 6-speed gearbox. Though, it gets a quick-shifter.
Compared to the existing model, the updated one will be 3 kg heavier. Its kerb weight will stand at 230kg. The 2020 Ducati Multistrada 950 S can be had with either cast alloy or spoked wheels. Its 19-inch front wheel ensures stability on off-road terrain. Features such as a 5-inch full colour TFT display, backlit handlebar controls, Hands-Free system, essentially a bi-directional quick-shifter and cruise control are reserved for the top-end trim.
The bike also comes with several advanced goodies including Ducati Quick Shift Up and Down (DQS), electronic suspension with Ducati Skyhook Suspension Evo (DSS), Bosch cornering anti-lock braking system (ABS) and full-LED headlight with Ducati Cornering Lights. Minor cosmetic changes will also be made to the model. It gets newly-designed fairing that seems to be borrowed from the Multistrada 1260.
