7. Hyundai Creta

Hyundai Creta headlamps

Hyundai Creta is one of the more decent looking SUVs wits its Fluidic elements that accentuates its overall character. On the inside as well, the things are above average while the feature list includes all interesting and necessary features like steering controls, touchscreen infotainment system etc. The cabin space as well is a big plus for the vehicle. In terms of the powertrain, Creta is offered with three different engine options that include a 1.4-litre diesel engine, 1.6-litre diesel mill and a 1.6-litre petrol powertrain. Each of these rides excellently and the suspension soaks up the road well. In terms of handling, Creta pleases and there is very little left to complaint about. The steering is precise but at times Duster seems to have a better one.

It is a well-rounded vehicle that gets good engines and offers the ease of ownership being a Hyundai. It is on the higher price end but the features, space and output are worth the money that you spend. It is what you call an urban SUV that is of a perfect size for the city and offers good set of comfort features along with safety features. The rear seating row is more comfortable for two adults instead of three, but the legroom and headroom are quite impressive. Though it is priced much higher than Rs. 10 lakhs but it has base variants that fall in the price range. Even the base variant features decent equipment like airbags and ABS with EBD along with follow-me-home headlamps etc. which together make for a very good vehicle. Honda BR-V is the latest compact SUV to enter in the Indian market. It uses the same platform as Honda Brio, Amaze and Mobilio. This particular car is one of the best fit in the segment with excellent city manners as well as perfect power as far as off-roading is concerned. The roof of the BRV isn’t that high but the overall design is pretty attractive. It has a long tail and a flamboyant front along with sharp aesthetics within the cabin also. On the inside there is a long equipment list that includes reverse parking sensors, dual airbags, push start stop button etc.

It is offered with CVT and manual transmission. The petrol engine on the car is 1.5-litres mill whereas the diesel mill is a 1.5-litre powertrain as well. The latter has plenty of power and the smooth shifting automatic transmission with the former engine gives the petrol variant an excellent drive as well. The CVT is excellent and it gives good response as well. BR-V doesn’t feel like a SUV, rather it has an appeal of a MPV.
