The Rolls-Royce Dawn is the first car from the company to get only a drophead version. What it gets however is the retractable soft top that can be opened or closed in just 20 seconds with speeds up to 50kmph.
Though the Rolls-Royce Dawn shares its underpinning with the Wraith, both the vehicles look different since the Convertible's 80 per cent bodywork has been redesigned.
The Rolls-Royce Dawn has been finally launched in India at Rs 6.25 crore (ex-showroom, Mumbai), Based on the Wraith coupe, the Rolls Royce Dawn is a 2+2 seater soft top convertible. Though both the vehicles look quite different as the convertible’s 80 per cent bodywork has been redesigned. With the launch of Dawn, the company now has four vehicles in India – Phantom, Ghost and Wraith.

The Rolls Royce Dawn maintains the company design principles – 2:1 wheel height to body height, short front overhang, a long bonnet, a long rear overhang, a high shoulder line and an elegant tapering rear graphic. Upfront is the grille recessed by 45mm, while the lower front bumper extended 53mm when compared to the RR Wraith.
Unlike traditional vertical lines, the Rolls Royce Dawn’s grille has horizontal lines. The bumper features the number plate surround and a lower air dam. The vehicle’s side profile too looks quite elegant with unmistakable soft top shape and new 21-inch polished and 21 and 20-inches painted wheels.
Similar to the exterior of the car, the Rolls-Royce Dawn’s cabin too is top-notch, graceful and uncompromising. It gets RR’s unique coach doors that complement the relaxed waft line and long front wings. The car has four separate bucket seats made of wood and leather.
The company says that “the seats have been designed to help emphasise the energetic yet elegant intent and sense of purpose of the car, complemented by an intersecting full length centre console.”
