The exact engine specifications of the motorcycles are yet to be revealed, but reports suggest that the bikes will get the downsized engines from the 390. This engine churns out 31bhp of power at 9,000rpm and a peak torque of 24Nm at 7,250rpm. While the RC250 weighs 147kg, the Duke 250 is 139kg heavy.
The BMW-Owned, KTM has assembled the bikes on the steel trellis frame that shared the design and concept from the Moto3 project. KTM is developing low displacement RC and Duke Bikes at the Bajaj’s production facility in Chakan. It is expected that the KTM RC 250 will also be manufactured at this facility.
It is quite early to comment whether the 250cc KTMs will make their way to Indian market or not, but the vehicles will be developed in India for foreign exports.
