Hyundai will launch the much-anticipated ix25 compact SUV in India in second half of 2015. The vehicle has recently been launched in Chinese market, and the vehicle has been crash tested in China recently. The compact SUV scores 5 stars in the C-NCAP (China New Car Assessment Program). This assessment comprises of four tests- 100 per cent overlap front crash, 40 per cent overlap front crash, side impact and whiplash.
In the 100% overlap front crash test, performed at a speed of 50 kmph, the ix25 scores 15.89 points out of maximum 18. The car scored 18 points in the side impact test, which was performed with a moving hard object travelling at a speed of 50-51kmph. The 40 per cent overlap frontal impact test was performed at a speed of 64kmph, where ix25 scored 14.11 points out of 18 points. At the end, the vehicle performed the whiplash test at a speed of 15.65kmpl and the ix25 scored 100 percent score.
The India-bound Hyundai ix25 compact SUV is likely to share most of its interior components with Elite i20 hatchback. The SUV will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. It is expected to get 1.4-litre Kappa petrol and 1.4-litre CRDi diesel units.
