Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Debuts in India – 2022 Ride Mania

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 has finally made its India debut at the 2022 Rider Mania in Goa. The company has already listed the bike on its official website hinting at its imminent launch. The 650cc cruiser was first showcased at the EICMA 2022 in Milan, Italy. The bike will be made available in two variants – Standard and Tourer – which are expected to be priced around Rs 3.5 lakh – Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be the flagship Royal Enfield cruiser.

Powering the new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is a 648cc, air and oil-cooled parallel twin engine. It’s the same motor that does duty in the RE Interceptor and Continental GT 650. The engine pushes out power worth 47bhp at 7,250rpm and 52Nm of torque at 5,650rpm.

The bikemaker says that its new 650cc cruiser has bespoke mapping and gearing and its 80% of peak torque arrives at 2,500rpm. It’s first Royal Enfield bike to be equipped with Showa 43mm USD fork suspension. Braking power comes from a 320mm disc at the front and a 300mm at rear unit. Compared to the Meteor 350, the new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 has lower seat height (740mm) and forward set footpegs. Interestingly, it’s the heaviest Royal Enfield in the country. The cruiser carries a kerb weight of 241kg. It has a low ground clearance of 135mm and offers a fuel tank capacity of 15.7-litres.

The Standard variant will be offered in Astral and Interstellar colour schemes, while the Tourer variant will come in Celestial colorways. The latter one features a large windscreen and a pillion backrest. The new Royal Enfield 605cc bike comes with 19-inch front and 16-inch rear alloy wheels shod with CEAT Zoom Cruz tyres.

Some of its key features include full LED headlamp (first for an RE), a large teardrop-shaped fuel tank, split seat setup, conventional brake lamp mounted on the fender, instrument console with the Tripper navigation display and cast aluminium switch cubes.
