Toyota Kirloskar Motor has released the first teaser of the upcoming 2023 Innova HyCross that will make its debut on 25th November 2022. Ahead of its India unveiling, the model will be showcased in Indonesia on 21st November. It will essentially be the new-generation version of the Innova Crysta with new platform, significantly improved design, feature-laden interior and hybrid powertrain. The new Toyota Innova HyCross will receive five features for the very first time, below are the details.
Monocoque Platform
Unlike the current generation model that underpins the ladder frame chassis, the new Innova HyCross will be designed on the monocoque platform. The monocoque architecture have lightweight uni-body design that enhances vehicle’s fuel efficiency. It provides better on-road handling and safety than the ladder frame chassis. With this upgrade, the MPV will slightly grow in size.
ADAS
Interestingly, the Toyota Innova HyCross will be the brand’s first model in India to offer ADAS (advanced driver assistance system). The MPV will have Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) offering safety features such as automatic emergency brakes, adaptive cruise control, pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, dynamic radar cruise control, road sign assist and automatic high beam.

Panoramic Sunroof
The new Innova HyCross will also be the first Toyota to come with a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. One of the fresh teasers reveal that the MPV will have side roof-mounted air con vents and ambient lighting. There will also be the front-seat mounted rear monitors. Besides these fitments, the new 2023 Toyota Innova will come with the electronic parking brake, a 360 degree camera, captain seat with Ottoman function, under floor storage, LED headlamp and power tailgate.
Hybrid Powertrain
For the very first time, the Toyota Innova will be made available with the hybrid powertrain. The MPV’s new model will be offered with a 2.0L naturally aspirated petrol and a 2.0L petrol with the strong hybrid powertrain options. Toyota is likely to use the heavily localized version of the THS II (Toyota Hybrid System) that consists of a twin motor layout for better fuel efficiency and high ‘step-off’ torque.
FWD System
The new Toyota Innova HyCross will be made available with the front-wheel drive (FWD) system replacing the existing RWD (rear-wheel drive) system.
