Volkswagen India has finally rolled out its all-new Virtus mid-size sedan in the country. The model lineup is spread across four trims – Comfortline, Highline, Topline and GT – priced between Rs 11.21 lakh – Rs 17.91 lakh. The Volkswagen Virtus shares its platform, features, components and engines with the Skoda Slavia. Both sedans are available with the 1.0L TSI turbo petrol (115bhp/178Nm) and 1.5L TSI turbo petrol (150bhp/250Nm) engines and the 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed DCT gearbox options.
Launched in early March 2022, the Skoda Saliva was made available at introductory price of Rs 10.69 lakh – Rs 17.79 lakh. Recently, the Czech automaker increased its prices by Rs 60,000. After the price hike, the Slavia Active 1.0L TSI MT variant costs Rs 10.99 lakh and the top-end Style 1.5L TSI DSG model is priced at Rs 18.39 lakh.

While starting price of the new Volkswagen Virtus is slightly higher than the Slavia, its range-topping variant is around Rs 47,000 more affordable than its cousin. The Slavia Ambition 1.0L TSI MT and AT variants are being offered at Rs 12.69 lakh and Rs 13.89 lakh respectively.
Virtus’ Highline trim with 1.0L TSI MT and AT cost Rs 12.97 lakh and Rs 14.27 lakh respectively, thus making them slightly more expensive than Slavia. Its Topline 1.0L manual version has been priced at Rs 14.41 lakh and the 1.0L automatic variant is available at Rs 15.71 lakh.
The Skoda Slavia Style 1.0L TSI manual without and with sunroof costs Rs 13.99 lakh and Rs 14.39 lakh respectively. The Style 1.0L TSI automatic variant is available at Rs 15.79 lakh. The 1.5L TSI DSG engine-gearbox combination is exclusively offered on the Volkswagen Virtus GT trim. The Slavia Style 1.5L TSI petrol trim comes with both manual and DSG gearboxes, which are priced at Rs 16.79 lakh and Rs 18.39 lakh.
