Volkswagen Virtus Sedan Launched – Variant-Wise Prices

The long-awaited Volkswagen Virtus mid-sized Sedan has finally been launched in the country at a starting price of Rs 11.22 lakh. The sedan was officially debuted in India in March 2022. Interested buyers can book the new Virtus sedan online or at authorised Volkswagen dealership by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000.

The Volkswagen Virtus has already started reaching dealerships for customer previews and test drives. It is the brand’s second model under the India 2.0 Project. The new sedan is based on Volkswagen Group’s MQB AO IN platform that underpins the VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and the Slavia.

The new VW Virtus sedan is available in 6 variants – Comfortline 1.0 MT, Highline 1.0 MT, Highline 1.0 AT, Topline 1.0 MT, Topline 1.0 AT and GT 1.5 DCT.

Comfortline 1.0 MT – Rs 11.22 lakh
Highline 1.0 MT – Rs 12.98 Lakh
Highline 1.0 AT – Rs 14.27 Lakh
Topline 1.0 MT – Rs 14.42 Lakh
Topline 1.0 AT – Rs 15.72 Lakh
GT Line 1.5 DCT – Rs 17.92 Lakh

It is offered with two engine options – a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol. While the former is good for 115PS and 178Nm, the 1.5L turbo engine churns out 150PS and 250Nm of torque.

The 1.0L turbo petrol engine comes with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The 1.5L turbo petrol engine gets a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The sedan is offered in 6 exterior colour options – Reflex Silver, Wild Cherry Red, Candy White, Curcuma Yellow, Rising Blue Metallic and Carbon Steel Gery.

In terms of proportions, the new Virtus is 4,561mm in length, 1752mm in width and 1507mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2651mm. Thanks to segment-largest wheelbase, the new VW Virtus offers a large boot space of 521-litres. The new VW Virtus will compete against the Skoda Slavia (its cousin), Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Honda City.
