The Hyundai i20 N Line has finally been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 9.84 lakh. It’s the first N Line model from the South Korean carmaker in the country. The model lineup includes three variants – N6 iMT, N8 iMT and N8 DCT – priced at 9.84 Rs lakh, Rs 10.87 lakh and Rs 11.75 lakh respectively. One must note that the dual-tone option is available at an additional cost of Rs 15,000. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.
Compared to the standard i20 Asta (O) turbo-DCT variant, the i20 N Line is more expensive. At present, it doesn’t have any direct competitor in India. The company is offering ‘Wonder’ warranty options including 5 years/40,000 kms, 4 years/50,000 kms, 3 years/100,000 kms, 3 years free road side assistance and 3 year BlueLink subscription.

Under the hood, the new Hyundai i20 N Line features the same 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that does duty in the regular model. The gasoline unit has been tuned for generating a maximum power of 120bhp and 172Nm of torque. The N8 trim is exclusively available with a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox with paddle shifters, while a 6-speed iMT transmission comes as standard. The hatchback’s N Line version offers sportier exhaust note along with all four disc brakes. Its on-centre steering feel is claimed to be better than the standard ones. The suspension setup has also been calibrated to offer better performance around corners.
Several cosmetic upgrades have been made to the new Hyundai i20 N Line. Upfront, the hatchback carries a ‘chequered flag’ inspired front grille, N Line logo, sporty red accents, a front splitter and dual-tone bumper with integrated fog lamps. The side sill garnish with red inserts further enhances its side profile. At the back, the i20 N Line sports twin exhaust pipes, taillamp clusters connected via a dark chrome garnish, sportier bumper with a pronounced diffuser and a tailgate spoiler with side wings.
Sportier treatment continues inside the cabin as well. The i20 N Line has an all-black interior with contrast red highlights and red ambient lighting. What further distinguish it from the regular i20 are the leatherette seats with a new chequered flag design with N logo, a bespoke three-spoke steering wheel, N branded leather gear knob and sporty metal pedals. It comes with the new voice functions and an updated BlueLink app offering 16 free OTA (over-the-air) updates.
The Hyundai i20 N Line hatchback comes in 4 monotone colour schemes, namely, new Thunder Blue, Polar White, Fiery Red and Titan Grey. There are two dual-tone shades – Thunder Blue with Phantom Black roof and Fiery Red with Phantom Black roof.
