4 Upcoming Royal Enfield Bikes In 2021-22: New Classic 350, Hunter 350

Royal Enfield is working on a wide range of new motorcycles, which will be launched in the 350cc to 650cc motorcycle segment. The company will launch two new 350cc motorcycles, which will join the Meteor 350. Adding to it, Royal Enfield will introduce a more road-specific Himalayan. The company is also testing multiple new 650cc motorcycles in the country.

New RE Classic 350

2021 Royal Enfield Classic 350 Signals Edition

Royal Enfield will soon launch the next generation Classic 350, which has recently been spotted during an official TVC shoot. The leaked images reveal the complete details about the top changes the Classic 350 will receive in coming days. Rumoured to be launched in August-September, the new RE Classic 350 retains the design of the existing model; however, it gets more modern features.

Three different variants of the new Royal Enfield Classic 350 will be introduced, which includes a single-seater bike, a twin-seater Classic 350 and the 350 Signals Edition.  The new gen RE Classic 350 is based on the brand’s new architecture, which underpins the Meteor 350. Called the “J” modular architecture, the new platform has a twin downtube spine frame for improved ride quality. It will be powered by a 349cc, fuel injected engine that is capable of producing a maximum power output of 20.2bhp at 6,100rpm and a peak torque of 27Nm at 4,000rpm. It will be paired to a 5-speed gearbox.

It is basically the more road-specific version of the Himalayan Adventure bike. Rumoured to be called the Royal Enfield Scram 411, the new motorcycle has been leaked online via a clay model. Instead of a flyscreen, the bike gets a small fairing-like element surrounding the headlight. The motorcycle also has smaller rims, and smaller fenders. The signature exoskeleton has been replaced with the tank shrouds.

The motorcycle gets revised rear mudguard, pillion grab rail and new instrument console. The rear luggage rack has been removed, while the fork gaiters are replaced with hard case panniers. It is likely to draw power from the 411cc single-cylinder engine, which might be calibrated for better power output. In the current form, this engine produces 24.8PS of power and 32Nm of torque.

RE Hunter 350

Royal Enfield is also testing a modern classic with sportier design, which will be positioned against the Honda CB350 RS. Likely to be called the RE Hunter 350, the new bike will be based on the new J modular platform that will also underpin the new Classic 350. It will have different design compared to the Meteor 350 and the upcoming Classic 350.

Some of the design highlights will include teardrop-shaped fuel tank, single-piece seat with a pillion backrest, a round tail-lamps, shorter fenders, round headlamp with chrome bezel, engine sump guard, an upswept exhaust and disc brakes. The motorcycle is likely to share the handlebar, instrument console and engine specs with the Meteor 350.The new motorcycle will be powered by the same 349cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine with an OHC design. This single-cylinder engine churns out 20.2bhp of power at 6,100rpm and a peak torque of 27Nm at 4,000rpm. Power will be transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox.

Royal Enfield is also testing a couple of 650cc motorcycles including a modern 650cc Classic and a 650cc Cruiser. The former is likely to be called the RE Classic 650, and will be based on the double-craddle frame that underpins the Interceptor and the Continental GT 650. It will come with a  twin-shock absorber at the rear, a larger front wheel than the rear, and flat tubeless tyres. The bike will get dual discs along with dual-channel ABS as standard.

The 650cc Cruiser is likely to be called the Royal Enfield Shotgun. It will come with modern styling and relatively sportier stance with mid-set footpegs. The motorcycle will have round headlamps along with large visor for wind protection, slender fuel tank and alloys. The motorcycle will have split seats, a twin-pipe exhaust system, round tail-lamps and turn indicators, fatter rear fender.

Both bikes will be powered by a 648cc parallel twin air-cooled engine with oil cooler that also powers the 650 twins. This engine is capable of producing 47.6PS and 52Nm of torque. It is expected to be paired to a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch.
