The new Maruti Suzuki WagonR Xtra Edition has been launched in the country. Based on the VXi trim, the special edition has been made available at Rs 5.13 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Compared to the standard VXi, it’s around Rs 1,000 more expensive than the standard VXi variant and Rs 6,000 cheaper than the VXi (O). The Maruti WagonR Xtra is essentially an accessory kit that will be available at dealership level. The accessory package includes five exterior enhancements and three interior features. On the exterior, the Maruti WagonR Xtra Edition gets front and rear bumper protectors, wheel arch cladding, side skirts, body side mouldings and chrome garnish on the front and rear. The cabin accessories include a car charger extender, an air inflator and trunk organizer. Similar to the VXi trim, the Xtra Edition offers features such as body coloured wing mirrors and door handles, blacked out B-pillar, wheel covers, power adjustable wing mirrors, tilt adjustable steering, steering mounted controls, front and rear power windows, 60:40 split folding rear seats, audio system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity, keyless entry and day/night inside rear view mirror.
For power, the new Maruti WagonR Xtra Edition uses the same 1.0L, 3-cylinder and 1.2L, 4-cylinder K-Series petrol engines. The smaller capacity unit delivers a claimed power of 68bhp and a maximum torque of 90Nm, and the 1.2L motor promises power worth 83bhp. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT. The 1.0L petrol unit offers fuel efficiency of 22.5kmpl and the 1.2L mill offers a mileage of 21.5kmpl.
In other updates, select Maruti Suzuki dealers have started accepting bookings for the new-generation Celerio that’s slated to arrive by September 2021. The hatchback will receive significant cosmetic changes and feature upgrades along with the WagonR’s 83bhp, 1.2L, 4-cylinder petrol engine. The new model will be bigger, lighter and safer than the current generation.
