Japanese automaker, Honda has unveiled the all-new Honda N7X concept in Indonesia. A three-row SUV based on the N7X concept is reportedly to be launched as a replacement for the BR-V SUV. The concept looks production ready, as it wears production body panels.

Honda N7X based 7-seater SUV will be positioned against the likes of the Toyota Rush and Mitsubishi Xpander Cross. The new concept comes with familiar Honda design, which we have already seen on latest Honda cars including the new City, new-gen Honda HR-V and the bigger CR-V SUV.

The Honda N7X concept has a rugged front fascia with upright stance and a clamshell bonnet. It features a multi-slat chrome laden grille and a slim wraparound headlamps. The headlamp design is also inspired by the new City sedan. A large prominent Honda badge is placed at the centre of the grille. There is a dual-LED DRLs setup, with one LED DRL placed above the headlamp and the other placed lower on the bumper. The lower bumper has wide air-dam, a faux skid plate and brushed aluminium inserts.

The side profile of the new Honda N7X Concept features a large glasshouse and a strong beltline that runs above the glass area. There is a strong beltline that runs across the length, starting from the headlamp and merges into the taillamps. The SUV gets round wheel arches with black plastic cladding on the borders, which give it a tough look. At the back, the SUV gets horizontally placed wrap-around tail-lamps with signature LED elements similar to the one offered in the City sedan.

Honda hasn’t revealed the interior of the N7X Concept, but it is expected to share the cabin layout and features with the new City. The SUV is expected to offer a minimalist dashboard with a central touchscreen. The SUV will be offered in 6- and 7-seat layouts. While the former will have captain seats for the second row, the 7-seater SUV will get bench-type seat for the second row.

It is claimed that the new Honda N7X combines the best of MPVs and SUVs, and will be able to tackle various road conditions without compromising on comfort and space.

The new Honda N7X is based on the latest-gen City sedan. It is expected to be powered by the 1.5-litre petrol engine that is capable of producing 121bhp and 145Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic. The company could also add the new 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that also powers the City RS in some Asian markets. This engine produces 121bhp and 175Nm of torque.

Honda N7X India Launch?

Honda will first launch the production version of the N7X SUV in Indonesia, where it will challenge the Toyota Rush and the Mitsubishi Xpander. The SUV will replace the ageing BR-V SUV. Honda has already discontinued the BR-V and the Mobilio from the Indian market. A 7-seater SUV could be a good option for Honda, as the demand for SUVs are on rise.
