Royal Enfield Hunter 350 (Honda CB350RS Rival): More Details Emerge

Royal Enfield is working on a wide range of new motorcycles starting from 350cc to 650cc segment. The company will soon introduce the new generation Classic 350, which has already been spotted testing in India. Adding to it, the company is working on two new 650cc cruiser motorcycles. Royal Enfield will also expand its 350cc motorcycle range, as the brand has started testing a new 350cc motorcycle.

The new 350cc motorcycle is rumoured to be called the Royal Enfield Hunter 350; however, RE is yet to make an official announcement on the same. The spy images reveal that the new RE 350cc bike features a typical modern-classic motorcycle design.

Meteor’s J Platform

RE Meteor 350 Price

The new Royal Enfield Hunter 350 will be based on the same J modular platform that unders the RE Meteor 350. This is a double-craddle frame, which will also underpin a wide range of new RE bikes including the new-gen Classic 350.

Design

The RE Hunter 350 will have a completely different design compared to the Meteor 350. The motorcycle features a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, single-piece seat with a pillion backrest and a round-shaped tail-lamp. Also, the motorcycle gets shorter front and rear fenders. The motorcycle features a round headlamp with chrome bezel, fork gaiters and engine sump guard. . It will get an upswept exhaust, round headlamp with short front mudguard, and disc brakes.

The company is expected to make some changes to the chassis, as the motorcycle will have centre-set position of the foot pegs. The Meteor 350 has forward-set foot pegs. The motorcycle will have upright and sportier riding position, thanks to the flatter handlebar and centre set foot pegs.

Component Sharing With Meteor 350

The motorcycle is expected to share several components and cycle parts with the Meteor 350. The buttons, handlebar grips, twin-pod instrument console with tripper navigation and dual-channel ABS system will be shared with the Meteor 350.

Engine Specs

The new motorcycle will be powered by the same 349cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine with an OHC design. This single-cylinder engine churns out 20.2bhp of power at 6,100rpm and a peak torque of 27Nm at 4,000rpm. Power will be transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox.

The braking system will comprise of 370mm front disc and 270mm rear disc. It will get a dual-channel ABS system as standard. The motorcycle will get telescopic front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear.

Price & Competition

Expected to be priced around Rs 1.8 lakh, the upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350 will be positioned against the likes of the Honda CB350RS (CB250 Road-Sailing) and the 2021 Jawa Forty Two.
