Jaguar Land Rover will officially enter into electric vehicle space in India on March 23, 2021. The company will launch the much-awaited Jaguar I-Pace pure electric SUV as its first EV offering. It will be offered in 3 variants – S, SE and HSE.
The Jaguar I-Pace pure electric SUV features a 90kWh lithium-ion battery, and two synchronous permanent magnet electric motors at the front as well as rear axle. This setup will offer a combined power output of 394bhp and a peak torque of 396Nm. Power will be transmitted to the wheels via an AWD system.
The Jaguar I-Pace accelerates to 100kmph from standstill in just 4.8 seconds before hitting a top speed of 200kmph. The SUV comes with a large battery that offers an impressive range of 480kms. Jaguar also claims that features like HVAC and heated seats will only consume about 1 percent of the power away from the battery.
The SUV also comes with rapid charging system. By using a 100kW rapid charger, the battery can be charged up to 80% from zero in just 45 minutes. The battery takes around 10 hours to fully charge using a 7kW AC wall box. Jaguar will give a complimentary 5-year service package and 5 years of roadside assistance, along with the standard 8 year or 1.6 lakh kilometers battery warranty.
Based on the bespoke EV aluminium architecture, the Jaguar I-Pace has coupe-like silhouette. The SUV gets shorter and sloping bonnet, roof design and curved rear screen. Design elements of the I-Pace includes new Matrix LED headlamps, honeycomb pattern grille, ORVMs with integrated blinkers and 22-inch wheels.
