Groupe PSA is ready to enter India with the Citroen C5 Aircross SUV in early 2021. The premium 5-seater SUV will be followed by a new sub-4 meter SUV (Citroen C21) in the second half of the 2021. The company also plans to introduce the Peugeot range that will include new compact SUVs, a sedan and a hatchback.
The carmaker has been testing Peugeot 208 hatchback for quite some time. If launched, the new hatch will be placed against the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and new-generation Hyundai i20. Here’re 6 important details we should know about the new Peugeot hatchback.
– Similar to the global model, the India-spec version will feature sweptback projector headlamps with LED DRLs, front grille with mesh type design and thick chrome surround, and round fog lamps with chrome styling.

– At the back, the hatchback will carry a differently designed taillamps, high mounted brake light and a rear windshield wiper.
– Interior details of the India-spec Peugeot 208 are still under the wraps. Though, it’s likely to feature a larger touchscreen display along with 3-spoke steering wheel with mounted audio controls, side vents with silver accents and keyhole for ignition.
– The global model comes with several driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, full park assist with flankguard, active lane keeping assist, Lane positioning assistance, automatic emergency brake assist, ctive blind spot monitoring and more. As of now, there is no clarity whether the India-spec model will come these features or not.
– Globally, the Peugeot 208 hatchback is offered with multiple petrol and diesel engines. In India, it could be made available with a 1.2L PureTech petrol and a 1.4L diesel motor. Both manual and automatic gearboxes are likely to be on offer.
