Volkswagen India has silently launched the special edition of the Vento sedan in the Indian car market. The model is named as the Vento special edition which comes with added features, a cash discount of 75,000, exchange bonus of Rs. 30,000, a free 1 year insurance and roadside assistance for 4 years. The Preferred Edition is based on the 2013 Vento Comfortline diesel variant which comes with an additional accessory pack worth Rs. 51,000. This accessory kit will only be offered free of cost to the employees of big Multi-National companies, PSUs or the brands that are listed with Volkswagen India.

Volkswagen is also planning to launch the Vento sedan with a new 1.5-litre diesel engine in the Indian car market. The same engine will also power the new 2014 Polo facelift, which is scheduled to make its debut by mid-2014. This engine will help the company to position this model well against the competitors.
We expect that the Vento Preferred Edition will be made available in both petrol and diesel engine options. While the petrol version gets the 1.6-litre engine that produces 103bhp and 153Nm of torque, the oil burner is powered by the 1.6-litre engine producing 103bhp and 250Nm of top torque. Both the engines are coupled to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox.
