Japanese two-wheeler maker, Yamaha has unveiled an exciting looking F155 moped concept in Vietnam. The prototype was unveiled at the launch event of the Exciter 155 VVA. The prototype comes with sporty design, featuring sharp curves and creases. The Yamaha F155 concept previews the design direction for the next generation Exciter/MX King.
Yamaha F155 Design and Features
Similar to the MX King 155, the new F155 moped concept is based on the YZF R15 V3 fully-faired motorcycle. It is undoubtedly one of the finest looking moped we have seen before. The company claims that the bodywork of the concept is inspired by Yamaha’s litre-class sportsbike, the YZF R1.
The front apron seems inspired by the front fascia of the R1, featuring a small centre air intake flanked by LED headlamps that look aggressive. The sporty styling is also offered on the side panels, and to the floating and pointed tail section. The moped gets tri-striped LED taillight, while the cowl seems inspired from R1.
Some of the design elements include dual-LED headlamps, LED turn indicators, twin underbelly exhaust system and zippy seat design. The moped is finished in multiple contrasting orange coloured accents with matte grey paint at the base.
R15’s Platform & Engine
The new Yamaha F155 concept is built on the Deltabox perimeter frame, which also underpins the new YZF R15 V3.0. The concept also features the same 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor, which comes with VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) technology. The prototype was equipped with Upside-Down (USD) front fork and monoshock at the rear, which is the same set-up offered in the Vietnam-spec R15. The Yamaha F155 concept features 17-inch alloy wheels.
