Volkswagen Virtus, Taigun Sound Edition – Prices, Key Features

Volkswagen has unveiled special editions for two of its models – the Virtus sedan and the Taigun mid-size SUV. Termed the Volkswagen Virtus Sound Edition and Taigun Sound Edition, both editions are based on the Topline trim and are equipped with the 1.0L TSI petrol engine delivering 115bhp and 178Nm of torque. The Virtus Sound Edition is priced at Rs 15.52 lakh for the manual variant and Rs 16.77 lakh for the automatic transmission, while the Taigun Sound Edition is priced at Rs 16.33 lakh for the manual version and Rs 17.90 lakh for the automatic version. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom.

As the names imply, both the Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun Sound Editions are designed to enhance the musical experience for occupants, featuring a speaker and amplifier system, along with powered front seats. Notably, these three features were previously exclusive to the GT Plus variants powered by the 1.5L TSI petrol engine.

Externally, the new Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus Sound Editions showcase special badging on the doors and C-pillar. The SUV variant also offers the option of a contrast roof and wing mirrors. Buyers can select these special editions in four distinctive color options – Wild Cherry Red, Lava Blue, Rising Blue, and Carbon Steel Grey.

Built on the Topline trim, the Sound Editions offer a plethora of features, including an auto-dimming IRVM, an 8-inch fully digital instrument cluster, an electric sunroof, ventilated front seats with leather inserts, a tyre pressure monitoring system, leather/leatherette seat upholstery, cruise control, automatic climate control, hill start assist, wireless charging, height-adjustable driver seat, reverse parking camera, and more.

In addition to the Sound Editions, Volkswagen recently introduced the Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition, based on the mid-spec GT trim and priced at Rs 16.3 lakh (ex-showroom). Notable sporty enhancements include special decals on the doors, C-pillar, and rear fenders, a ‘Trail’ badge on the tailgate, blacked-out 17-inch alloy wheels, front brake calipers with a red finish, black seat upholstery with contrast red stitching, and ‘Trail’ embossing.
