Upcoming Mahindra SUVs In 2024 – XUV700 6-Seater to XUV.e8

Mahindra has been receiving overwhelming response for its new breed of SUVs from car buyers in India. The company is selling over 40,000 SUVs in the country this year. Mahindra is also working on increasing production capacity to meet the rising demand and reduce high waiting period. In order to maintain the steady growth, Mahindra is planning to launch 5 new SUVs in the country in 2024 –

Mahindra XUV700 6-Seater

The Mahindra XUV700 mid-sized SUV is currently available in two seat configurations – 5-seater and 7-seater. The company is preparing to soon launch the 6-seater version of the XUV700, which will come with two captain seats in the middle row with slide & recline functions. The new model will also come with the electro-chromic internal rear-view mirror (auto-dimming IRVM). Adding to it, the 6-seater XUV700 could also get ventilated front seats.

The Mahindra XUV700 6-seater will retain the existing powertrain options including a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 2.2-litre turbo diesel. While the former is good for 200PS and 380Nm of torque, the turbo diesel produces 185PS and 450Nm of torque. Mahindra Thar 5-door

5-door Mahindra Thar Launch Date

The new gen Thar has been a huge success in our market; however, the 3-door version is not a practical offering in the market. To address this issue, Mahindra is now ready to introduce a long-wheelbase 5-door version of the Thar lifestyle SUV. This model will offer more practicality with more space in the second row and bigger boot. The SUV also gets some design elements including larger side steps, a rear door with a pillar-mounted handle, new alloy wheels and new LED taillamp clusters.

The cabin will receive a bigger touchscreen infotainment system with an updated user interface, a single-pane sunroof, a rear parking camera, a restyled center console and a new front armrest. The 5-door Thar is likely to be offered with 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel engines. While the former is expected to offer 200bhp & 370Nm/380Nm, the turbo diesel engine is tuned to produce two power outputs – 172bhp with 370Nm/400Nm and 130bhp with 300Nm. Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus

Mahindra is all set to launch the new Bolero Neo Plus with the option of a 7-seater or a 9-seater configuration. If reports are to be believed, the SUV will come in 7 variants including an ambulance model offering 4-seats and a patient bed. The SUV will have an extended length of 4,400mm, while retaining its existing wheelbase of 2,680mm. It will be powered by a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine that also powers the Scorpio N. This engine will be detuned to produce around 120bhp, and will be paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The SUV will come equipped with a 2WD (two-wheel drive) system.

Mahindra will launch the significantly revised version of the XUV300 compact SUV in early 2024. It will receive significant design changes and several modern features along with minor mechanical changes. The SUV will draw design and styling inspiration from the XUV700. It will feature a two-part front grille, C-shaped LED headlamps, a larger central air intake, a revised tailgate, new alloys and new tail-lamps.

The SUV will feature a revised & shorter gear selector for automatic gearboxes. The SUV will receive a large free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, a wireless phone charger, a digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats and a segment-first panoramic sunroof. It is also expected to receive ADAS (advanced driver assistance system). It will continue to offer the 1.2L turbo petrol, 1.2L direct injection turbo petrol, and 1.5L diesel engines, producing 110bhp, 131bhp, and 117bhp, respectively. Read More….

Mahindra has confirmed that its first Born electric SUV, based on the XUV.e8 concept will be launched by December 2024. The new SUV will be developed on the new born electric INGLO skateboard architecture, which is compatible with different powertrain options, wheelbase, track dimensions, and AWD & RWD layouts. In terms of proportions, the XUV.e8 is 4,740mm long, 1900mm wide and 1760mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2762mm. Compared to the XUV700, the electric SUV is 45mm longer, 10mm wider and 5mm taller, and it has a 7mm longer wheelbase.

The Mahindra XUV.e8 will come with a bigger battery pack based on two cell architectures – Blade and Prismatic. The Battery Management System is claimed to offer improved range along with safety & longevity. The SUV will be offered with RWD & AWD system.
