Honda has recently launched the Elevate mid-sized SUV in India. The SUV has received a positive response from buyers with over 5800 units sold in September 2023. Honda Cars India has announced that it will continue to introduce multiple new models in the next few years. New Amaze

Honda is preparing the next gen Amaze compact sedan, which is reportedly to be launched sometime in the first half of 2024. The new model is expected to be based on the heavily modified version of the existing platform. It is expected to receive significant changes in terms of design, interior and underpinning. The styling of the new Amaze could be inspired from the new City & the global Accord. The next-gen Amaze is also likely to receive Honda Sensing Suite, ADAS tech with features like lane assist, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and others.

The cabin is likely to share features and the dashboard layout with the City and the Elevate SUV. It is expected to get a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity. The sedan will continue to be offered with the same 1.2L 4-cylinder NA petrol engine with manual and CVT automatic gearbox.

New Honda Compact SUV

Buoyed by the excellent response for the new Elevate, Honda is reportedly planning to introduce a new compact SUV in our market. The company could launch the new-gen WR-V sub-4 meter SUV, which is on sale in Indonesia. The new model will be positioned against the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon and others. It is expected to share the interior layout and features with the Elevate compact SUV. The new model could be offered with multiple engine options including a 1.2L petrol and a 1.5L petrol.

At the launch event of the new Elevate, Honda Cars India had announced that the mid-sized SUV will receive an electric version in our market in the next 3 year – around 2025-26. The electric version of the SUV will be positioned against the MG ZS EV, Mahindra XUV400 and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki EVX and the Hyundai Creta EV. Honda engineers will have to make several changes to the platform to accommodate a battery pack and a front-axle mounted electric motor. The SUV should offer a range of over 400km on a single charge.
