Upcoming Ather 450S HR e-Scooter – Range 156km, Bigger battery

Ather Energy is reportedly developing a new variant of its recently launched 450S electric scooter, and leaked homologation documents suggest it will be named the Ather 450S HR, with the ‘HR’ likely denoting “High Range.” This new e-scooter is expected to be equipped with a Phase III permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 7.24bhp and a 3.7kWh battery pack. It is anticipated to offer a maximum range of around 156km on a full charge, with a real-world range of approximately 110km.

The Ather 450S HR is expected to feature three riding modes: Eco, Smart, and Sport, with a maximum speed capability of 80kmph. In terms of features, it is likely to have the same set of features as the Ather 450S, including an LCD color display, Bluetooth connectivity for onboard turn-by-turn navigation, music playback, phone call controls, and more.

Ather 450S HR Range

The current Ather 450S is equipped with a 2.9kWh battery pack, producing 5.4kW of power and 22Nm of torque, with a top speed of 90kmph. It supports fast charging from the Ather Grid, providing a 15km range with just a 10-minute top-up, while home charging takes 6.5 hours to reach 80 percent capacity (an additional 2 hours to reach 100 percent). Compared to the Ather 450X, the 450S has a smaller battery pack, resulting in a lighter weight and slightly slimmer rear tyre.

It’s important to note that many of the LCD display’s features are accessible with the optional Pro pack, which comes at an additional cost. The Ather 450S is priced at Rs 1.3 lakh, and with the Pro pack, it costs Rs 1.43 lakh, including OTA updates and a 5-year/60,000km warranty on the battery. Currently, Ather Energy has established a network of over 200 touchpoints spread across 100 cities in India. Additionally, they have set up a public fast charging network specifically designed for electric two-wheelers, comprising over 1,500 Ather Grids.
