Toyota Records Over 15,000 Sales In March 2021 – Fortuner, Innova

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has released the official sales numbers for the month of March 2021. The company sold 15,001 units in March, which is 114 per cent higher than the same month last year. The Japanese automaker had delivered 7,023 units in March 2020.

In February 2021, Toyota sold 14,075 units. The month-on-month sales growth is recorded at 6.58%, as Toyota sold 926 more vehicles in March compared to the February 2021. The company recorded 73% growth in the Q4 FY21 over the corresponding quarter.

2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender features

The March 2021 domestic sales for Toyota has been the highest since March 2013. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the factories and industries were completely locked in March-April 2020. Business were open again in May 2020, and automakers have gradually started reaching the pre-covid business levels.

Commenting on the sales, Naveen Soni, Sr. Vice President at TKM said, “We have been able to sustain the growth momentum as we closed the last quarter registering a 73% growth in domestic sales, when compared to the sales in the corresponding period last year (Jan- Mar 2020). “Our sales performance in the last quarter proved to be better than the sales in the festive season of the third quarter (Oct- Dec 2021), clocking a growth of 42%” he further added.

In the last 6 months, Toyota launched multiple new models including the Fortuner facelift, Fortuner Legender and the Innova Crysta facelift. Adding to it, the Glanza hatch and the Urban Cruiser compact SUV have also received positive response from buyers.
