Toyota has revealed the new Hilux lifestyle pick-up in the India. The company has officially started accepting pre-orders for the pick-up. Interested buyers can book the Toyota Hilux online or at authorised Toyota dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 1 lakh.
The Toyota Hilux will be officially launched in March 2022. Moreover, deliveries for the lifestyle vehicle will also commence from March this year. It is developed on the IMV-2 (Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle) platform that also underpins the Fortuner and the Innova Crysta.

Not just platform, the new Hilux also shares the engine-gearbox combinations with the 7-seater sibling. It will be powered by a 2.8-litre turbocharged diesel engine tha is capable of producing 204bhp of maximum power and 420Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. With automatic gearbox, the engine offers 500Nm of torque.
The Toyota Hilux will be offered in both 4×2 and 4×4 system. The 4WD (four-wheel drive) system will come with electronic differential lock. The new Hilux comes with a five-star safety rating by ASEAN NCAP. The pickup will be locally produced at Toyota’s Bidadi plant. It offers a water wading capacity of 700mm.

The leaked brochure reveals that the Hilux will come in two variants – Low & High. The former will be offered in Super White and Grey colour options, the High variants will come in 4 paint schemes – Grey, Silver, Pearl White and Emotional Red. In terms of proportions, the new Toyota Hilux is 5,3255mm in length, 1,855mm in width and 1,815mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3,085mm. It offers a ground clearance of 216mm.
