Tata Motors and Hyundai has released their respective sales number for the month of November 2021. While Tata Motors is rapidly increasing its market share, Hyundai has received a significant decline in sales.
Tata Motors has received a positive sales growth of 38 percent in the month of November 2021. The company sold 28,027 vehicles in November as against 21,228 units in the same month last year; thus recording a YOY sales growth of 32%. The company’s EV sales increased by whooping 324%, as Tata delivered 1,751 EVs last month as against 413 units in the same period last year.
Not just passenger vehicle category, Tata Motors total domestic sales including commercial and passenger vehicles posted a 21% year-on-year growth. The commercial segment of Tata has registered a year on year growth of 15%. The company sold 32,254 commercial vehicles in November as against 27,982 units in the same month last year.
Hyundai Motor Company has received a year-on-year negative growth of 24.18 percent. The company sold 37,001 units in the month of November 2021 as against 48,800 units in the same month last year. Hyundai sold 37,021 units in the month of October, which is similar to the last month.
Hyundai’s export has also received a negative growth of 4.72 percent. The company exported 9,909 units in November 2021 as against 10,400 units in the same month last year. Hyundai claims that November sales is “affected on account of the ongoing semiconductor shortage situation.’
What’s interesting is that the gap between Hyundai and Tata Motors, sales number, have come down to less than 8,000 units. Tata Motors is enjoying the success of new breed of cars including Punch, Harrier, Safari, Altroz, Nexon and the Tiago. Most of its cars doing more than 5,000 sales per month. In fact, Tata Nexon is one of the best-selling models in its category.
