After introducing the new Safari and Harrier, Tata Motors is now getting ready with multiple new SUVs for the Indian market. Before the end of this financial year, Tata will launch the electric version of the Punch micro SUV. The next big product from the homegrown automaker is the much-awaited Curvv concept based Coupe SUV.

Similar to the Nexon, the Tata Curvv concept based Coupe SUV will be offered with electric as well as International combustion engine. Most of the Tata EVs were originally introduced with ICE powertrains; however, the Curvv SUV Coupe will first introduced as an electric vehicle. Tata Motors has confirmed that the electric version of the Curvv will go on sale in the first half of 2024 followed by the introduction of the ICE version a few months later.

Tata Motors had showcased the Curvv EV concept in 2022, while the ICE version was debuted at the 2023 Auto Expo. The Tata Curvv electric variant is expected to offer a range of around 400-500km on a single charge; however, details about the battery pack, power and torque outputs are still undisclosed. The new model will have a larger battery pack compared to the Nexon EV.

The ICE version is likely to be powered by a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine that debuted at the 2023 Auto Expo. This engine is capable of producing 125bhp of power and 225Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer. The Coupe SUV is also expected to receive a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine that powers the Nexon.

The new Tata Curvv SUV Coupe will be based on the new generation electric architecture, which is basically the heavily modified version of the ALFA platform. The platform currently underpins the Punch and the Altroz hatchback. Going by the leaked sketches online, it is clear that the new Tata Curvv SUV Coupe will also offer a compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel option.

The new Tata Curvv SUV Coupe will share the features with the new Harrier, Safari and the Nexon. The SUV will get a digital instrument console, a panoramic sunroof, a rotary gear selector, a new steering wheel with an illuminated logo in the center, and a center armrest.
