Skoda Epiq Electric Compact SUV Revealed – India-Bound?

Czech automaker Skoda has globally revealed its upcoming all-electric compact SUV, called the Epiq. The Skoda Epiq will be the brand’s entry-level EV and has a modern design language with minimalist yet functional interior. The production version of the EV is likely to make global debut sometime in 2025, while launch is expected sometime in 2026.

The Skoda Epiq electric SUV will measure around 4.1 metres in length and is likely to have a long wheelbase of around 2,600mm. The company claims that the electric SUV will offer a boot space of 490-litres. This electric SUV will be made in collaboration with Volkswagen. The electric SUV will be made in Pamplona, Spain, along with the Cupra and Volkswagen.

The Skoda Epiq is designed on the brand’s new ‘modern solid’ design cues. The electric SUV has a new slender grille area, SKODA word-mark in the centre of the sculpted bonnet, and T-shaped LED elements for the daytime running lights. The SUV has a strong shoulder line that separates the greenhouse from the rest of the body.

The electric SUV has squared wheel arches, floating roof and uniquely styled C-pillar. The SUV has prominent roof rails and a large sunroof. The rear also has sporty appearance with an extended roof spoiler, T-shaped LED daytime running lamps, Skoda lettering in red finish and eight-slate patterned lower bumper with orange accents.

The cabin of the new Skoda Epiq electric compact SUV is interestingly designed, which is very minimalistic yet functional. It features a tiny instrument panel that is added to provide essential information. It comes with a large central touchscreen infotainment unit, which is expected to offer all the other information. It will be the first production vehicle from Skoda to offer a minimalist Modern Solid interior.

The centre console is highlighted by orange accents, which also features a wireless charger. It comes with a two-spoke steering wheel with clean look and SKODA lettering along with physical buttons for various functions. The upholstery and interior trim are made of recycled material.

The Epiq electric compact SUV is likely to feature a battery pack of capacity between 38kWh and 56kWh. It will have a range of around 400km on a single charge. The electric SUV will be offered as a front-wheel-drive model, featuring a single motor placed on the front axle. It will come with Skoda’s mobile digital key, which enables a wide range of features to be deployed via the driver’s smartphone. The electric SUV features bi-directional charging that converts the car into a rolling energy storage unit, which can send excess electric energy into the customer’s home or to other alliances.
