Royal Enfield Hunter 350 – 5 Things To Know

Royal Enfield is readying multiple new bikes including the next-gen Classic 350 and a 650cc cruiser, which have been spotted several times. The company is also readying a new 350cc motorcycle, which is rumoured to be called the RE Hunter 350. The new bike will be a more city-specific bike.

Meteor’s Platform

The new Hunter 350 will be designed and developed on the new J platform, which also underpins the new Meteor 350. This platform will under the new breed of RE 350cc motorcycles including the next-gen Classic 350, which is scheduled to be launched in the second quarter of 2021. The new J-platform consisting of a new double-cradle frame. Royal Enfield claims that the new chassis is stronger, stiffer and more durable, and is designed for straight-line stability and cornering without compromising on comfort.

No Tripper Navigation

The spy images reveal that the new RE Hunter 350 features an asymmetrically mounted, semi-digital instrument console that features an analogue speedometer. The spotted model misses out on the Royal Enfield’s Tripper Navigation System, which was introduced in the Meteor 350.

Engine Specs

The new Hunter 350 will share the engine-gearbox combination and other mechanics with the new Meteor. It will use a 349cc, air-cooled single-cylinder engine with an OHC design. It is capable of producing 20.2bhp of power at 6,100rpm and a peak torque of 27Nm at 4,000rpm. For transmitting power, the engine is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. Dual channel ABS along with dual-discs will come as standard. For suspension duties, the bike will have telescopic front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear.

RE Hunter 350 Design

The spy images reveal that the Hunter 350 will share similiarities in terms of styling with the Meteor 350. However, the Hunter 350 will have different seat height and design highlights. Features like alloy wheels, braking system and suspension setup will be sourced from the 350cc Cruiser. The motorcycle is likely to get round headlamps fitted in a black enclosure, and fork gaiters are likely to be added for bolder front end. It is likely to get a slightly differently designed fuel tank and new dual-tone paint scheme. The motorcycle will receive new tail-lights with turn signals, new single piece seat, and upward sweeping exhaust canister. The motorcycle is expected to ride on 17-inch wheels.

Launch & Price

The new RE Hunter 350 is expected to be launched in the end of 2021 or early 2022. The motorcycle is likely to be priced somewhere between Rs 1.60 lakh and Rs 1.80 lakh.
