Renault 4 Returns As A Retro-Styled Electric SUV; Launch By 2025

The iconic Renault 4 makes a comeback at the ongoing Paris Motor Show. The company has showcased the Renault 4 retro-styled electric SUV, which is scheduled to be launched globally in 2025. It will be the second car to be designed and developed on Renault’s CMF-BEV architecture. The new model will be produced alongside the new Renault 5 at the company’s new ElectriCity production hub in northern France.

In terms of proportions, the new Renault 4 compact electric SUV is 4,160mm in length, 1,950mm in width and 1,900mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,570mm. The concept had 19-inch wheels shod with 255/55 section tires. However, the production-ready model is most likely to use 16 or 17-inch wheels. This compact electric SUV has a ground clearance of 200mm.

Renault 4 Electric Concept Range

The Renault 4EVER Trophy show car has a muscular exterior design with styling elements from the original 4L. The concept has prominent bonnet, bumper and angled rear section. Therear, trapezoidal side windows with their rounded corners are placed above the rear wheels. While the front flanks have been left bare, the wings sit atop the wheel arches.

The production model will lose some of the concept’s rugged design elements. The main focus will remain on practicality and utility. Renault hasn’t revealed the interior of the 4. It is likely to offer spacious cabin, thanks to no engine up front and no transmission tunnel running through the cabin.
