New Tesla Model 3 Unveiled – Longer Range, Sharper Design

The Tesla Model 3 has undergone a substantial update, breathing new life into the electric sedan after six years in the market. Codenamed Project Highland, this revamped Model 3 excels in every aspect, from aesthetics to range and features. With a focus on enhancing both form and function, the new Model 3 boasts redesigned front and rear profiles, resulting in a sleeker appearance and improved aerodynamics. These changes not only enhance its range but also reduce drag and wind noise. Initially, these updates will be introduced in the Europe-spec rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and long-range (LR) versions.

The updated Model 3 showcases a sharper front end with redesigned headlamp housing and LED daytime running lights (DRLs). New multi-spoke wheels and signature wraparound C-shaped LED taillights further contribute to its refreshed look. While the overall silhouette remains familiar, the electric sedan has grown slightly in length, now measuring 4,720mm. However, its height has been reduced by an inch, and ground clearance by 2mm. Tesla has also introduced two captivating new color schemes to the lineup – Stealth Gray and Ultra Red.

New Tesla Model S Range, Specs

In terms of electric range, the new Model 3 RWD with 18-inch wheels impresses with an estimated WLTP range of 554km (344 miles), while the long-range variant promises a remarkable 678km (421 miles). This translates to an impressive 11 to 12 percent increase in range. The sedan’s RWD and LR AWD versions continue to deliver brisk acceleration, with 0 to 62mph times of 6.1 seconds and 4.4 seconds, respectively.

Inside the new Model 3, a more comfortable ambiance prevails, thanks to new ambient lighting, acoustic glass, and enhanced soundproofing materials. The 15.4-inch central screen now features slimmer bezels, and an additional 8.0-inch rear display with integrated controls has been introduced. Steering-mounted controls have made way for column-mounted levers, contributing to a cleaner interior. LR models now boast 17 speakers for an exceptional audio experience, while RWD models feature nine speakers. Tesla has also improved the microphone for superior call quality.
