In the next 2 months, the homegrown passenger vehicle maker plans to launch 2 new compact electric SUVs in the market. The company will introduce the new Nexon EV on September 7, 2023. Tata Motors has officially announced that the new Nexon electric will make its debut on September 7, 2023. The new model will receive the new .ev branding that represents Tata’s new electric vehicle division. The new Tata Nexon.ev will look slightly different from the new Nexon. The SUV will have a full-width LED light bar, which we have seen on the Curvv SUV Coupe concept. The major changes are made to the front profile; however, the rear of the Nexon.ev looks identical to the ICE version.

Instead of the Prime and Max suffixes, the new Tata Nexon.ev will come in two versions – Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR). The Nexon.ev MR is likely to feature the same 30.2kWh battery pack that offers a certified range of 312km. On the other hand, the LR model will have a larger 40.5kWh battery with a longer range of 453km on a single charge. The LR model will also come with two charging options – a 3.3kW or a 7.2kW AC charger. Both versions will come with a permanent synchronous motor. The MR model will have outputs of 129bhp & 245Nm of torque, while the LR will produce 143bhp and 250Nm.

A new media report claims that the long-awaited Tata Punch EV will be introduced by the end of October 2023. To be positioned below the Nexon.ev MR, the new Tata Punch.ev will be positioned against the Citroen eC3. It will feature Tata’s Ziptron powertrain that is offered on the Tigor.ev. The latest spy images reveal that the Punch EV will come with a charging socket mounted up front, on the bumper. It is expected that the e-SUV gets four-wheel disc brakes, a newly styled alloy wheel, and some EV specific changes over the regular model.

The cabin is also expected to receive cosmetic changes including the new two-spoke steering wheel. It could also get a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay support. Based on the modified ALFA platform, the new Punch-ev will come with a permanent synchornous motor and a liquid-cooled battery.
