The much-awaited new Skoda Octavia sedan has finally been launched in the Indian market at Rs 25.99 lakh. The company has confirmed that the deliveries for the new Octavia will commence later this week. The fourth generation Octavia was first unveiled globally in November 2019; however, the India launch delayed due to rising COVID-19 cases.

Laurin & Klement (L&K) – Rs 28.99 Lakh
The new Skoda Octavia is available in two variants – Style and L&K. It is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that also powers the Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace and the upcoming Skoda Kodiaq facelift. This engine is capable of producing 187bhp of power and 320Nm of torque. The powertrain is paired to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
The new Skoda Octavia is offered in 5 colour options – Lava Blue, Magic Black, Maple Brown, Candy White and Brilliant Silver. The new Octavia directly rivals the Hyundai Elantra sedan, which will receive a generation upgrade in 2022.
The new-gen Octavia is based on the VW Group’s MQB EVO platform. In terms of proportions, the sedan is 4,689mm long, 1,829mm wide and 1,469mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,680mm. The sedan offers a massive boot space of 600-litres, which can be increased up to 1,109-litres by folding the second-row seats.
Design features include adaptive front LED headlamps with crystalline elements and LED turn indicators, LED tail-lamps with crystalline elements and dynamic turn indicators, front doors SKODA welcome logo projection, ORVM with integrated blinkers, keyless entry for all 4 doors, engine start/stop button, electrically controlled opening and closing of boot, virtual boot lid release pedal, rear view camera with washer and dynamic guidelines, parktronic sensors at the front and rear, etc. The sedan gets new larger butterfly grille, and newly styled 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
