New-Gen Renault Duster SUV – 5 Things To Expect

The Renault Duster mid-size SUV, which once enjoyed a fervent following in India, was discontinued in 2022 due to sluggish sales. However, Renault is now preparing to breathe new life into the Duster brand by introducing a comprehensive generational overhaul.The eagerly awaited global debut of the new-generation Renault Duster SUV, scheduled for November 29, 2023.

While specific details are still under wraps, it is anticipated that the new Duster will undergo significant changes, ranging from a modernized design and enhanced interiors to advanced technology, more efficient powertrains. Here are five significant changes that we can anticipate for the new-generation Renault Duster.

Bigster-Inspired Design

Drawing Inspiration from the Dacia Bigster, the forthcoming Duster will feature a design characterized by its boxy and imposing stature. This SUV is poised to showcase a redesigned front grille, sleek LED headlamps, a fresh bumper with integrated aluminum skid plates, and prominently flared fenders. While the front doors will retain conventional handles, the rear will sport C-pillar mounted door handles. The rear profile is expected to undergo revisions, introducing triangular-shaped taillamps and a new bumper.

Three-Row Version

Reports indicate that the next-generation Renault Duster will be available in both 5-seater and 7-seater configurations. The 5-seater variant will contend with rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Honda Elevate, while the 7-seater Duster will enter a direct competition with upcoming three-row SUVs from Maruti Suzuki and Toyota.

All-New Platform

Undergoing a significant transformation, the Duster will shift to a fresh CMF-B modular platform, which will serve as the foundation for Renault’s future offerings. All Renault models utilizing this new platform will share common elements, including axle design, floor structure, cabin layout, and mechanical components. This platform versatility will allow the company to interchange components between vehicles, adapting them to various markets and customer needs, while also adhering to global emission and safety standards. Bigger Than Before

In addition to its design and platform enhancements, the all-new Duster will grow in size, as indicated by spy images, although precise dimensions remain undisclosed. The previous-generation model measured 4360mm in length, 1822mm in width, and 1695mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2673mm.

Hybrid Powertrain

On a global scale, the next-generation Renault Duster is expected to offer electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains. However, it remains to be seen whether the hybrid version will be available in India. When the SUV was discontinued in India, it featured a 156bhp, 1.3L turbocharged petrol engine.
