MINI India has launched a special edition of the new MINI Convertible in India. Called the new MINI Convertible Sidewalk Edition, the new model will be offered as a CBU and only 15 units are available. The new special edition can be booked exclusively on shop.mini.in. Priced at Rs 44.90 lakh, the new Sidewalk edition is based on the first special edition of this line which was launched in 2007.
The new MINI Convertible Sidewalk Edition is available in a single Deep Laguna metallic exterior colour. It gets a striking geometric pattern of the soft-top electric roof that opens within 20 seconds. This edition features specially designed Scissor Spoke 2-tone 17-inch light-alloy wheel. Other additions include individual side scuttles in the Sidewalk design, door sill finishers made of brushed aluminum also in Sidewalk design and striking bonnet stripes with delicate pinstripes.
Inside the cabin, the Sidewalk edition gets leather seats in Anthracite with braided piping in Dark Petrol and accent seams in Energetic Yellow. The new illuminated interior surface features a decorative cockpit and door trim with Petrol finish. The multi-function Sport Leather steering wheel has discreet Sidewalk logo.
Powering the new MINI Convertible Sidewalk Edition is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine with TwinPower Turbo technology. This engine is capable of producing 192bhp and 280Nm of torque. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in just 7.1 seconds before hitting a top speed of 230kmph. The vehicle gets 7-speed Steptronic Sport transmission with double clutch and paddle shifters. It also offers three driving modes – standard MID mode, Sport mode and Green mode.
The new MINI Convertible Sidewalk edition comes equipped with a range of safety features such as front and passenger airbags, brake assist, 3-point seat belts, dynamic stability control, crash sensor, ABS, cornering brake control and run-flat indicator. It also gets automatic start/stop function, brake energy recuperation, shift point display and electromechanical power steering.
