MG Motors has officially announced that its upcoming SUV, called the MG ONE will make global debut on July 30, 2021. Ahead of the debut, MG Motors has also released some images of the SUV. The images partially reveal the SUV, which showcases the brand’s latest design and tech ability.
The MG ONE SUV has already been leaked in China, and the clear pictures have already been circulated on the web world. The new SUV is based on the brand’s new SIGMA architecture, an all-in-one modular platform. This platform is compatible to accommodate advanced tech such as powerful chip tech, active digital eco system, advanced electric architecture and hard-core software technology.
In a statement, MG Motors said, “the styling of MG ONE follows the aggressive and sporty design philosophy.” The company said that the SUV shows a strong European-style premium sporty touch with a back-seated posture and a signature leopard jump shoulder line. MG further said, “the wide and lower proportions ensure a practical interior space while giving the whole car a modern and sporty look.”
The images of the MG ONE reveal a Coupe-SUV design. It was wrapped in a dual-tone Orange and black scheme. The front has a wide grille, angular headlamps with LED inserts and sharp bumper. Prominent creases also visible on the bonnet and on the side profile.
The MG ONE has contrasting roof rails. Black plastic cladding can be seen all around the body, while the square wheel arches give a sporty profile. The SUV also gets five-spoke alloy wheels.
The rear profile looks prominent, as it features Coupe-like styling. The vehicle gets slim LED tail-lamps, strong creases on the boot lid and high-mounted stop lamp. It gets dual-tone bumper with faux exhaust vents.
Chinese media reports that the MG ONE SUV measures 4,579mm in length, 1,866mm in width, and 1,609mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,670mm. Engine specifications will be revealed on July 30, 2021; however, media report claims that the SUV will get a 1.5L 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with power & torque close to 178bhp and 250-260Nm respectively. Transmission options could include a 6-speed MT & a dual-clutch automatic.
