MG Motor India today revealed variants and complete price list of the new Comet EV. The small electric car is being offered in three trims – Pace, Play and Plush – priced at Rs 7.78 lakh, Rs 9.28 lakh and Rs 9.98 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom. The MG Comet EV undercuts its arch rival – Tata Tiago EV – with a big margin.
The Tiago EV’s base variant costs Rs 8.69 lakh and the top-end model is priced at Rs 11.99 lakh. That means, Comet’s Plush trim is around Rs 2 lakh more affordable than the Tiago EV XZ+ Tech Lux fast charge variant.

The carmaker has confirmed that deliveries of its new small electric car will start from 15th May 2023. One must note that the revealed prices are introductory and will be applicable for the first 5,000 customers. Read – MG Comet EV Vs Tata Tiago EV
Powertrain setup of the MG Comet EV includes a 17.3kWh battery pack and a single electric motor making 42bhp and 110Nm. The e-motor delivers power to the rear wheels via an automatic gearbox. Its battery pack is IP67-rated for water and dust resistance. The small EV offers a claimed ARAI-certified range of 230km. It’s available with a 3.3kW onboard charger that takes 7 hours to get it fully charged. MG has sourced the battery for the Comet EV from AutoComp.
Dimensionally, the Comet is very compact measuring 2974mm in length, 1505mm in width and 1640mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2010mm. MG has packed its small EV with lots of goodies. Though, its biggest attraction is the dual 10.25-inch screens – one for the infotainment and one for the digital instrument. The info unit comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
The feature list also includes keyless entry, over 55 connected features, steering mounted controls, manual AC control, three USB ports, one-touch tumble and fold feature in the front passenger seat, 50:50 rear seats, rotary drive selector, tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS with EBD, reverse camera, dual front airbags and reverse sensors.
