Matter Aera Electric Bike Launch Price, Range, Specs

Matter Energy has launched its first electric motorcycle, the Matter Aera in the Indian market. The electric bike is available in two variants – Aera 5000 and Aeroa 5000+ – priced at Rs 1.44 lakh and Rs 1.54 lakh respectively (ex-showroom India, including FAME-II subsidy). The electric scooter will also receive two new variants in future. 

The Matter Aera comes fitted with a liquid-cooled, 5kWh battery pack and offers a claimed 125km real-world range. The liquid-cooled motor is rated at 10.5kW. The electric motorcycle weigs 180kg, as the battery pack itself weighs around 40kg. It is the first electric motorcycle with gears. The e-bike features a 4-speed gearbox. The electric bike comes fitted with a dual-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System).

The Matter Aera 5000 comes with a 7-inch touch-compatible display with bluetooth connectivity as optional, park assist, keyless operations, OTA updates and others. The top-spec 5000+ variant gets Bluetooth connectivity as standard. Adding to it, the higher variant gets lifestyle and care package. 

Matter is offering a 3 year warranty on the battery pack and e-bike. The company hasn’t reveal that the charger price is included in the price of the motorcycle. Mattery Energy will open its first experience centre in Ahmedabad in the next 45 days. Moreover, the company aims to open 20 dealerships across the country in the next 3 years. The dealerhips will increase to 100 before the end of this year. 

The Matter Aera is available for bookings in metros and tier 1 cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and others. The Matter electric bike is a naked streetfighter and has compact design. It gets LED lighting system, auto-cancelling indicators, split seats, split grab rail, clip-on handlebars, etc. The motorcycle will be offered in 4 dual-tone colours – Grey & Neon, Blue & Gold, Black & Gold, and Red & Black & White.
