The homegrown automaker, Mahindra has announced to increase the prices of its entire range by up to 2.5%. This is a price hike of Rs 10K to Rs 63K on ex-showroom price, depending upon the model. The Mahindra XUV700 premium SUV has also received a significant price hike; its 3rd since launch in late 2021.
Mahindra claims that the reason behind the price increase is rise in commodity prices like steel, aluminum and palladium. The new Mahindra XUV700 petrol range is now available in the price bracket of Rs 13.18 lakh and Rs 22.75 lakh. The diesel model is now priced at Rs 13.70 lakh for base model and Rs 24.58 lakh for the top-end variant.

The new XUV700 is offered with two engine options – a 2.0L 4-cylinder, mStallion turbocharged petrol and a 2.2L 4-cylinder mHawk turbocharged diesel. The petrol engine is capable of producing 200bhp and 380Nm of torque. The diesel engine offers two states of tunes – 155bhp/360Nm with MX version and 185bhp/420Nm (450Nm with AT) with AdrenoX AX trim.
Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The diesel engine also offers 4 driving modes – Zip, Zap, Zoom and Custom. These drive modes are claimed to alter performance and steering response.

The Mahindra XUV700 comes with a huge waiting period of up to 90-92 weeks. The entry-level MX variant petrol comes with a waiting period close to 14-16 weeks, while the diesel MX commands a waiting period of around 23-25 weeks. The AX3 and AX5 petrol and diesel come with a waiting period of around 38 weeks and 45 weeks respectively.
