The homegrown UV maker Mahindra has launched a new special edition of the Thar lifestyle SUV, called the Mahindra Thar Earth Edition. Inspired by the Thar Desert, the new SUV is available in 4 variants with prices starting at Rs 15.40 lakh (ex-showroom).

Based on the LX Hard Top 4×4 guise, the new Thar Earth Edition is available in 4 variants – Petrol MT, Petrol AT, Diesel MT and Diesel AT – priced in the range of Rs 15.40 lakh to Rs 17.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
In terms of styling, the new Mahindra Thar Earth Edition is finished in a Desert Fury satin matte colour. It comes with dune-inspired decals on the rear fender and doors, matte black badges and silver finished alloy wheels. “Earth Edition ” badging is embossed on the B-pillars.
Inside the cabin, the new Thar Earth special edition comes with a dual-tone (black and light beige) scheme. The dune designs are added on the headrests, while the Thar branding on the doors. There are dark chrome accents finished all around the cabin.
The Desert Fury-coloured inserts are added to the AC vents, centre console and the steering wheel. Mahindra said that each unit of the special edition of the Thar will feature a unique numbered decorative VIN plate.
The new special edition is offered with the same 2.0-litre turbo petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines. Transmission choices include a six-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. Mahindra is also offering multiple accessories with the new Thar Earth Edition. Customers can modify the front and rear armrests, floor mats and a comfort kit.
