The 2024 Kia EV9 electric SUV has achieved dual victory at the 2024 World Car Awards. The India-bound EV9 electric SUV secured prestigious titles for both World Car of the Year and World Electric Vehicle at the awards ceremony at the New York Auto Show.
Selected by a jury of 100 distinguished automotive journalists representing 29 countries, the World Car Awards recognized the Kia EV9’s innovative design, spacious seven-seat interior, and competitive price point. Based on the E-GMP platform, the Kia EV9 is the first Kia to feature 4th generation battery technology for improved performance.
Before EV9, the Telluride won World Car of the Year in 2020. The Soul EV won the World Urban Car award in 2020, and the Kia EV6 GT was awarded with World Performance Car of the Year in 2023.

The new BMW i5/5-Series won the World Luxury Car of the year. It manages to beat the Mercedes E-Class and the EQE SUV to grab this prestigious award. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 bagged the Performance car of the year award, as it beats the BMW M2 and XM. The World Urban Car of the Year award goes to the Volvo EX30, while the Toyota Prius won the title of the World car design of the year.
