Hyundai i20 N Line, the sportier version of the standard i20 hatchback, is ready to hit roads on 2nd September, 2021. The model will mark entry of Hyundai’s N performance brand in India. Interested customers can pre-book the vehicle by paying an initial sum of Rs 25,000 at Hyundai dealerships or online. The i20 N Line gets cosmetic enhancements along with a few mechanical updates over the standard model. The model lineup will be offered in three variants – N6 iMT, N8 iMT and N8 DCT.
All variants of the Hyundai i20 N Line will source power from the 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that’s borrowed from the regular i20. The gasoline unit makes a top power of 120bhp and 172Nm of torque. Buyers will have two gearbox options – 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT automatic. The DCT variants will come with the paddle shifters. The hatchback, however, misses out on manual transmission.
While the powertrain configuration remains unchanged, its suspension setup has been tuned for offering better handling around corners. Its exhaust note is sportier than the standard i20. Furthermore, the sportier Hyundai i20 N Line has disc brakes at all four corners. The carmaker says that its steering has also been updated for delivering sportier performance. Hyundai will offer the new i20 N Line in four monotone colour options, namely, Fiery Red, Polar White, Titan Grey and Thunder Blue (new). There will be two dual-tone exterior paint options – Fiery Red with Phantom Black roof and Thunder Blue with Phantom Black roof. Design bits such as chequered flag-inspired front grille, dual-tone bumper, N Line badge, a front splitter, newly-designed 16-inch alloy wheels, side sill garnish with red inserts and red front brake calipers, dark chrome garnishing connecting taillamps and twin-exhaust pipes differentiate it from the standard i20.

The sporty treatment continues inside the cabin as well. The new i20 N Line has all black interior theme with red highlights and red ambient lighting. The model also comes with the bespoke 3-spoke steering wheel, sporty medal pedals, leatherette seats with new chequered flag design and N logo and N-branded leather gear knob. The sportier variant of the hatchback additionally offers new voice recognition functions, updated BlueLink app, 7-speaker Bose sound system and many more.
