The Creta EV will be based on the recently launched facelifted version of its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart, maintaining identical design elements. However, it will incorporate specific features tailored for electric propulsion. Details regarding its powertrain are still emerging, with media reports indicating a utilization of a modest 45kWh battery pack sourced from LF Chem. Its electric motor, derived from the global-spec Kona EV, will be positioned at the front axle, delivering an estimated power output of 138bhp and peak torque of 255Nm. Notably, Maruti Suzuki’s forthcoming rival, the eVX, will offer two battery options – 48kWh and 60kWh. Despite some EV-specific enhancements, the interior layout and features of the Creta EV are expected to mirror those of its ICE-powered counterpart.

Codenamed DG9D, the Elevate EV is anticipated to share design elements, components, and features with its ICE counterpart. Honda’s Tapukara-based plant in Rajasthan will serve as the production hub for this electric SUV, with reports indicating a retooling of the facility slated to begin in 2024.
