Classic Legends To Launch 2-3 New Bikes In 2024

Classic Legends, the premium two-wheeler brand under the Mahindra & Mahindra umbrella, renowned for making iconic Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles, is set to expand its product portfolio in the Indian market. The company has disclosed plans to unveil 2-3 new models around April, May, and during the festive season of 2024, although the specifics of these upcoming releases remain shrouded in mystery.

Simultaneously, Classic Legends is gearing up to amplify its dealership network, aiming to double its current count to 750 showrooms from the existing 423 outlets within the next 24 to 30 months. Moreover, Classic Legends has set its sights on global expansion, with plans to explore export opportunities in Europe and tap into markets in ASEAN countries, including Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

New Jawa 350 Features

In a significant boost to its endeavors, Mahindra & Mahindra, in December 2023, announced a substantial fund infusion of Rs 875 crore into Classic Legends. These funds are earmarked for diverse applications, including new product development, marketing initiatives, tooling for innovative offerings, and the expansion of the distribution network in overseas markets. The infusion is set to empower Classic Legends to venture into the fiercely competitive Indian middle-weight lifestyle motorcycle segment, currently dominated by Royal Enfield. The company anticipates that this strategic investment will pave the way for a financial turnaround, aiming to recover losses incurred over the past three years and achieve profitability in the current fiscal year.

In a recent development, Classic Legends introduced the Jawa 350, featuring a new 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. With improved low-end and mid-range performance, the motor delivers a peak power of 22.5bhp and 28.1Nm of torque. The bike is available in three distinctive paint schemes – Mystique Orange, Black, and Classic Jawa Maroon. It comes equipped with a 35mm telescopic fork and preload-adjustable twin shock absorbers suspension setup. Braking prowess is provided by a 280mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc, complemented by dual-channel ABS as standard.

As anticipation builds for the upcoming Jawa and Yezdi models, motorcycle enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting further details. Stay tuned for more updates on these anticipated releases from Classic Legends.
