Launched in July 2022, the Citroen C3 hatchback is the first mass-market product from the French automaker in India. Now, it seems that the company is ready to foray into the 7-seater SUV segment with a new model based on the C3 hatchback. Recently, prototypes of the three-row Citroen SUV were caught on camera during its test rounds in the country. While the official name and details of the model are yet to be revealed, it’s reported to be called Citroen C3 Plus 7-seater SUV.
– The front and rear profile of the C3 Plus SUV shares a great resemblance with its hatch sibling.
– What mark difference are the slightly redesigned front grille and bumper and the lower positioned fog lamp assembly. The 7-seater SUV has a rear defogger, which misses out on the C3.

– Unlike the test mule that was equipped with the 17-inch wheels, the production model might get 16-inch units. Alloy wheels could be reserved for the top-end variants.
– Interior layout and features of the new Citroen 7-seater SUV are likely to be similar to the C3 hatch.
– The model could be offered with a 10-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, four speakers, a flat bottom steering with mounted controls, tilt adjustable steering, door ajar warning, speed sensitive auto door lock, roof rails and more.
– The new Citroen C3 Plus 7-seater SUV is expected to be offered with the 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that’s good for 110bhp and 190Nm. The motor could be paired with a manual gearbox. The C3 hatchback’s 1.2L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine (82bhp/115Nm) might not be on offer.
– Here, the new Citroen 7-seater SUV could be placed against the Maruti Suzuki XL6 and Kia Carens. Its market launch is likely to happen sometime in 2023.
