We are about halfway into the year and we have already witnessed a few important new car launches of 2022. More excitement is in store for auto enthusiasts as there will be several new launches in coming months. The model lineup will include new Maruti and Toyota mid-size SUVs, Mahindra Scorpio-N, updated Hyundai Creta, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6 and more. Out of the big new car launches that are yet to be launched, three models are slated to arrive next month (i.e. June 2022). Here’s a brief on upcoming new cars.
Mahindra Scorpio-N
The much-awaited third-generation Mahindra Scorpio is ready to go on sale on 27th June, 2022. Called the Mahindra Scorpio-N, the SUV will come with all-new design, upmarket and more spacious interior, new chassis and more powerful engines. Reports suggest that the new Scorpio will be offered with the 2.0L turbo petrol (200bhp) and 2.2L turbo diesel (130bhp/180bhp) engines and manual and automatic gearbox options. On the feature front, it’s likely to receive a larger infotainment unit with the latest smartphone connectivity, wireless charging, a 360 degree camera, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, ADAS and more. New-Gen Maruti Brezza
The second-generation Maruti Brezza is reported to hit showrooms in June 2022. The subcompact SUV will come with a host of new features including a factory-fitted sunroof, a 360 degree camera, Head-Up Display (HUD), connected car tech, wireless charging, a larger infotainment system, a new instrument cluster and a flat-bottom steering. A few changes are reported to be made to its bodyshell. The safety kit is likely to include tyre pressure monitoring system, 6 airbags, hill decent and hill hold assist. Powering the new 2022 Maruti Brezza will be the updated 1.5L K15C petrol engine making 103bhp and 137Nm. This time around, the SUV will get a new 6-speed automatic gearbox and CNG kit. Kia EV6
Kia EV6 is surely one of the much-awaited new car launches of this year. It will be the first electric car from the South Korean automaker in India that will be imported as a CBU unit. As per the leaked information, the electric crossover will come with a 77.4kWh lithium-ion battery pack promising a range of 528km (WLTP) on a full charge. Its battery pack can be charged for 100km in less than 4.5 minutes via ultra-fast charging. The company will also offer a 350kW fast charger, a 50kW fast charger with the EV6.
