Maruti Suzuki is all set to roll out the much-awaited new-generation Vitara Brezza next month (May 2022). One must note that its official launch date and details are yet to be revealed. If reports are to be believed, the automaker will drop the prefix ‘Vitara’ and name it ‘Maruti Suzuki Brezza’. The subcompact SUV will take a big leap in terms of design and features. In fact, significant changes will be made to its engine mechanism.

The all-new Brezza will come with improved styling featuring a newly-designed front grille and new twin-pod projector LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs. The front and rear bumpers will also be updated. The SUV will get new fog lamps assembly and a new faux skid plate. The existing alloy wheels will be replaced with the newly-designed units. The rear profile will be updated with revised taillamps. The carmaker might introduce new colour schemes to the new-gen model lineup.

While the interior layout will remain intact, the new 2022 Maruti Brezza will receive several new features for the very first time. The subcompact SUV is reported to be offered with the factory-fitted electric sunroof. Similar to the new Baleno, the Maruti Brezza 2022 could be offered with Head-Up display (HUD) unit. There might also be wireless smartphone charging, a new flat-bottom steering, connected car tech and many more goodies.

For power, the new Maruti Brezza 2022 will use the updated 1.5L K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine that’s good for 103bhp and 137Nm. A new 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox will replace the aging 4-speed unit. It will come with the paddleshifters. A 5-speed manual transmission will continue to come as standard. As per the media reports, Maruti Suzuki might give a miss to its SHVS mild hybrid technology. With the generation change, the subcompact SUV is likely to receive CNG variant.
