Bajaj CNG Bike Coming Soon – What to Expect?

Bajaj Auto has been preparing its first CNG bike for launch, and we have already spotted the model multiple times during its test rounds. Recently, the model was caught with heavy camouflage alongside the Bajaj Platina 110. The upcoming Bajaj CNG bike has a CNG cylinder fitted horizontally under its long flat seat. The large panel gap on the fuel tank, visible in the spy images, is likely there for opening the CNG cylinder’s valve.

Reports suggest that the bike will come with an engine of bigger capacity, as CNG is less power-dense than petrol. The leaked patent image hints that there will also be a petrol tank in the storage compartment for emergency usage. The blue switch placed on the left side switchgear could be for changing the fuel mode (CNG to petrol/petrol to CNG).

Bajaj CNG Bike launch

The new Bajaj CNG bike features a braced handlebar with knuckle guards, heel-and-toe gear shifter, mid-set footpegs, a leg guard at the front, a saree guard at the rear, an upswept exhaust, and a larger tyre hugger. It also has a digital instrument cluster. For performing suspension duties, the bike has a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking duties will be done by the front disc and rear drum brakes.

As far as pricing is concerned, the new Bajaj CNG bike is expected to cost around Rs 80,000 (ex-showroom). Its official launch date and details are yet to be announced, though it’s reported to debut by mid-2024.

Besides the CNG bike, the Pune-based two-wheeler manufacturer is gearing up to launch the new Bajaj Pulsar NS400 that will come with the same 373cc, liquid-cooled engine. The motor, which also does duty in the Bajaj Dominar 400, delivers a claimed power of 40PS and 35Nm of torque. The bike is likely to hit showrooms in the coming months within an expected price range of Rs 1.70 lakh – Rs 2 lakh.
